Vanilla essential oil comes from the Vanilla planifolia plant, a perennial climbing vine that is part of the orchid family. Though originally native to Central America, it is now grown in tropical areas around the globe. The plant features yellow-white flowers which need to be pollinated by hand. After three to four years, the flowers begin to produce odourless beans, which need to be harvested by hand.
In order to fully develop their flavour and aroma, the beans must then undergo a lengthy and labour-intensive process. Next, they are ground into small pieces before going through pressurised CO2 extraction. The oil is then combined with fractioned coconut oil to create Madagascar Vanilla.
Madagascar Vanilla can be diffused to fill your home with its beautiful, rich, uplifting scent, applied topically to soothe and moisturise the skin or used as a personal fragrance. Alternatively, it can be added to your favourite beverages and ingested for its delicious flavour.
