The litsea cubeba plant is an evergreen tree that is native to East Asia and part of the Lauraceae family. Litsea essential oil is extracted from the fruit of the tree via the process of steam distillation.
Litsea has been used for years by the indigenous people of Taiwan for a wide variety of purposes. The essential oil is similar to Lemon and shares lemon’s incredible cleansing abilities, thanks to its high content of neral and geranial. Therefore, Litsea essential oil can be used to make a highly effective surface cleanser.
The cleansing benefits of Litsea also apply to the skin when it is used topically by adding a few drops to your usual cleanser. Using aromatically allows you to not only enjoy the fresh, clean, sweet aroma but also benefit from its uplifting, rejuvenating properties. Litsea essential oil is also commonly used in meditation to promote inspiration and balance.
