Tangerines come from an evergreen tree called Citrus Reticulata. The tree produces white flowers and orange citrus fruit. The Tangerine is the sweetest of the citrus fruits, and one of the most widely cultivated citrus fruits around the globe. It is a hybrid variety of Mandarin, believed to have been developed in Morocco.
The Tangerine fruit has a thin peel, from which the essential oil is extracted through the process of cold pressing. dOTERRA Tangerine essential oil is extracted in Brazil, and it takes approx. 3 kilograms of Tangerine peel to produce just one 15ml bottle.
